Born and raised in Norfolk, Daymen Robinson graduated from Granby High School before earning his B.A. in Political Science, cum laude, from Norfolk State University, where he was an active member of the National Political Science Honor Society and the Thurgood Marshall Pre-Law Club. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary, one of the nation’s oldest law schools. During law school, Robinson was honored with the Thurgood Marshall Award for distinguished public service.

After law school, Robinson began his legal career as an Assistant Public Defender for the City of Norfolk, representing both adults and juveniles in a wide range of cases — from misdemeanors to serious felonies. In this role, he gained substantial trial experience in both bench and jury trials, as well as appellate practice before the Virginia Court of Appeals and the Virginia Supreme Court.
